What the Writer Says…
TS50 covers a broad range of traffic sign offences. It applies when a driver fails to comply with any traffic sign that is not a stop sign, traffic light, or double white line - those have their own specific codes (TS10, TS20, TS30, and TS40). Common examples include no entry signs, one-way signs, no right turn or no left turn signs, keep left bollards, and give way signs.
The penalty is 3 points and a fine of up to £1,000. A driving ban is discretionary but rare for this type of offence. Most TS50 cases are dealt with by fixed penalty notice rather than a court hearing (GOV.UK, as at March 2026).
