What the Writer Says…
TS60 is a specific endorsement code for failing to comply with a school crossing patrol sign. The offence occurs when a driver fails to stop for a school crossing patrol officer - commonly known as a lollipop person - who is displaying the hand-held stop sign to allow children to cross the road safely.
School crossing patrol officers have legal authority under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to stop traffic. Failing to obey their sign is an offence under the Road Traffic Act 1988. The penalty is 3 points and a fine of up to £1,000. A driving ban is discretionary but very rare for this offence (GOV.UK, as at March 2026).
