Information Used
Report processing may use the Garage account email, vehicle registration, optional mileage, package, price, order reference, timestamps, payment and refund state, billing information returned for accounting, report results, PDFs, invoices, credit notes, audit history and secure-link creation, expiry, revocation and access records.
Why It Is Used
Information is used to form and fulfil the report contract, take and reconcile payment, deliver and protect the report, provide customer service, prevent fraud, keep accounting records, handle refunds and legal claims, and provide secure sharing requested by the owner. The relevant bases include contract, legal obligation and legitimate interests in security, support and record integrity.
Service Providers And Sources
Stripe hosts card checkout and processes payment-related information. Experian supplies vehicle provenance information. Brego supplies modelled valuation data. SalvageGuide, CarGuide and Percayso may supply salvage, taxi or private-hire and previous-advert information. DVLA and DVSA provide available vehicle and MOT information. One Auto API may provide the technical connection to the commercial data services. Hosting, email and PDF services process only the information needed for their role. Provider records and availability can change.
Secure Sharing
Anyone given a secure link may view the report until expiry or revocation. Link verifiers are not stored in readable form by the service. Owners should share only with intended recipients and revoke a link sent in error.
Retention And Deletion
Personal information is kept only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including report access, customer support, security, accounting and legal obligations. Payment, invoice, refund, security and legal records may be retained separately even when a vehicle or report is removed from My Garage.
Cookies And Hosted Checkout
The existing strictly necessary My Garage session protects purchased report access. Stripe may use necessary technology on its hosted checkout domain. The current affiliate journey uses a URL referral value and server-side order attribution, not a report-specific first-party marketing cookie. Any future attribution cookie or browser-storage key must be added to the Cookie Policy and assessed for consent before use.
