What the Writer Says…
MS10 covers leaving a vehicle in a dangerous position, contrary to Regulation 103 of the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986. This offence typically arises when a vehicle is left parked or stationary in a location that creates a hazard to other road users - for example, on a blind corner, near the brow of a hill, or obstructing a junction.
The penalty is 3 points and a fine of up to £1,000. In the context of motoring endorsements, this is at the lower end of the scale. Most insurers will still offer cover to a driver with an MS10, though some may add a modest loading to the premium (GOV.UK, as at March 2026).
