Usually this is the case but it will of course depend on the value and power of the quad bike. For example a very powerful and expensive used quad bike will cost more to insure than a cheap new model.
This depends on whether you’re using it on your own land or if you’ll be riding it on public roads too. If it’s the latter, then you’ll need to get third party only insurance at minimum.
Other than negotiating price if you’re buying used, a very good way to save money on the overall cost is shopping around for insurance quotes so you get the best price possible.
