What the Writer Says…
PC30 is the endorsement code for a contravention of pedestrian crossing regulations with a stationary vehicle. It covers offences where the driver's vehicle was not moving at the time of the contravention - typically stopping, parking, or waiting within the controlled area of a crossing.
Common PC30 offences include stopping on a zebra crossing when traffic is queuing, parking within the zig-zag lines on either side of a crossing, and stopping on the crossing area during a red phase at a pelican, puffin, or toucan crossing. These zig-zag markings are not just advisory - stopping within them is an offence under the Zebra, Pelican and Puffin Pedestrian Crossings Regulations and General Directions, made under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
